Michael Ayrton

Michael Ayrton (1921-1975) was a British artist, writer, and filmmaker. He was known for his work in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, and theater design.

Ayrton was born in London and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. His early work was influenced by Surrealism, and he became known for his imaginative and often disturbing images, such as his series of paintings inspired by the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus.
