Trevor Bell

Trevor Bell (1930-2017) was a British abstract painter, printmaker, and teacher. He was born in Leeds, England and studied at Leeds College of Art from 1946-1950. He later continued his studies at the St Martin’s School of Art in London from 1950-1954. Bell was associated with the St. Ives School of artists, and he moved to St. Ives, Cornwall in the 1960s, where he was a member of the Penwith Society of Arts.

Bell’s abstract paintings were characterized by bold shapes and vibrant colors. He often worked with large canvases, and his paintings were influenced by his interest in Zen Buddhism and his fascination with the natural world. Bell also worked as a printmaker, creating etchings and screen prints that were similarly abstract and colorful.
