Elizabeth David: A Life in Food (Talk) 10 August 2017, 6pm
£10 (Friends £8.50, Students £9) A drinks reception follows each talk.
In the mid-20th century, after years of austerity and rationing, food writer Elizabeth David inspired British households with her books on European cuisines and traditional British dishes. John Minton, whose work reflected the sense of escapism invoked by David’s books, illustrated her first two titles. Join David’s biographer Lisa Chaney for a unique insight into a food writer who, like Minton, could reflect the spirit of a place.
