Catalogue for a posthumous exhibition of Anne Estelle Rice’s work held at the University of Hull in 1969. Rice, an American-born artist, was renowned for her vibrant contributions to early 20th-century modernism and her association with the Scottish Colourists. She was also one of the illustrators for the influential literary magazine Rhythm. The catalogue includes a biographical study of Rice by her husband, O. Raymond Drey, and was compiled and edited by Malcolm Easton, who also contributed an appendix titled ‘Anne Estelle Rice and the Artists of Rhythm’. Condition: covers a little marked and worn with a strip pasted onto bottom edge from front panel advertising the show as being held at The Morely Gallery, otherwise very good.
