The Guinness Lithographs were commissioned by Guinness Breweries in the 1950s to publicise their book The Guinness Book of Records. The lithographs were made to be pinned up on the walls of pubs and working men’s clubs and illustrate world records of the day. The images are bold, colourful and often humourous and provide a wonderful insight into the social history of the time.
