Original wood engraving by Paul Nash (1929). From an edition of 45. This is one of the trial proofs taken from the original block in the V & A by Ian Mortimer for Garton and Cooke in 1985.
‘The head-piece to page 13 of A Song about Tsar Ivan is featured as the end-piece to the book where it incorporates the word Finis. Like the title page design it is vertical in format and includes similar red highlights within the illustration.’
