This book, while making no claims to be definitive or scholarly, presents a lively intimate portrait of this elusive and very attractive man. In addition to providing linking passages, the editor, William Chappell, has contributed a chapter on Burra’s childhood and another on his last years and death.  Signed, dated and inscribed on title-page by William Chappell. Inscription to the artist Peter Snow: “Dear Peter, much love from Billy”. Foreword by George Melly.  Condition: some like wrinkling to top edge of dust-wrapper. Splash stain to the upper right corner of the front pastedown, extending to the upper left corner of the front endpaper. One small spalsh stain t to top left corner of title page. otherwise very good.
