Bawden’s contribution (apart from the covers and endleaves) consists of several line engravings and 6 colour plates (4 double-page printed verso and recto) which the artist made especially for Motif. The stunning originals were pasted up from linocuts printed in colour, from these, and separations made by the artist, line blocks were made, and printed with specially manufactured inks. Condition: Boards worns to edges. small segment of loss to head of spine revealing binding below. Light cracking to guttering between page 8 and 9, otherwise very good.
