Nina Hamnett (1890-1956), talented artist and legendary queen of bohemia in London and Paris, was immortalised in the paintings, sculptures, novels, poems, diaries and memoirs of her contemporaries; while her portraits of her famous friends are amongst her finest work.

The book, which is largely based on personal interviews and original research, is an account of Nina’s life, her work and the bohmeian world she lived in. It encompasses many of the leading artistic personalities and movements of the first half of the twentieth century and fully evokes the main meeting places of the period. The numerous illustrations of Nina an her work include portraits of her by many artists such as Roger Fry and SIckert, as well as the famous nude torso by Gaudier-Brzeska which suggested the title of her autobiography Laughing Torso.

This out of print Nina Hamnett book is in good condition.
