Originally published by Robert Gibbings at the Golden Cockerel Press in 1926 as a limited run, this lavish 2010 edition – faithful to the original is hand-numbered as no 9 hors commerce (of 15, outside of the run of 60 copies made available for general sale). Two volumes. 5 copper engravings (included twice, once in each volume) printed from the original plates by Martyn Grimmer in Bristol on Velin Arches Blanc 200gsm paper. Designed, set and printed by Nicolas McDowall in Eric Gill’s Aries Type. Small folio bound by The Fine Book Bindery in Old Stile Press designed paper covered boards, spines lettered in gilt, housed together in the original pale green cloth slipcase. 24 x 32cm. Slight wear to slipcase, otherwise fine.
