All the hallmarks of a Terry Frost: the boldness and pureness of the colours reflective of his time spent in the States just before this was created. And yet its abstract simplicity belies, perhaps, a connection to the body. A relief version very similar to this work was sub-titled ‘Mae West’ after the famously curvy actress of that name.
