Samuel Palmer’s Sketchbook 1824

Hardback.  Two volumes in original  slipcase.  Beige cloth.  Limited to 586 copies, this being number 524. Volume one contains an introduction and commentary by Martin Butlin.    Filled with stunning collotype facsimile illustrations of Palmer’s only surviving sketchbook, volume two brings the artist’s “visionary years” to vivid life.  Condition: Previous owner’s bookplate to front end-papers of both volumes.  One loose page.  A few light marks to slipcase, otherwise near fine.
