A near fine set of The Painter and Sculptor: A Journal of the Visual Arts, a quarterly arts journal edited and founded by Patrick Hayman. Index loosley inserted. Published from 1958 to 1963, it sought to act as “a meeting-ground between poet and painter, sculptor and architect.” It featured a wide range of artists and styles—albeit reflecting Hayman’s taste for figurative art—including John Banting, Keith Vaughan, Cecil Collins, Cynthia Pell, Ben Shahn, James Ensor, Gordon Baldwin, Jean Arp, Joachim Karsch, Arthur Boyd, Ghika, Carel Weight and much more. Condition: Minor pen annotations to contents page  of Volume 3 Number 3, otherwise near fine.
