Born in 1923. Ursula McCannell is a painter who had a huge success before she was even sixteen. Throughout the development of her work, certain things have remained constant: themes, subjects and a poetic vision to which she has adhered, despite the seductive vagaries of fashion. Author John Elliot regards her principal theme to be landscape, the depiction of which is so influenced by her poetic vision that perhaps it becomes and inner landscape. In a different turn, Mick Rooney, in his preface, sees her central theme as the portrait. A scarce copy signed by McCannell of this fascinating study of her work.
Condition: Fine copy – some faint marks and a few scratches to the covers.
