Rinko Kawauchi: Betarinko (2010)

10.5cm x 14.5cm. Survey of some of Rinko Kawauchi’s photographic works from 1999-2009. Presented as grids of contact sheet strips, Kawauchi’s images chronicle the artist’s travels through the United States, Brazil, and Japan, focusing on scenes and still lives that celebrate the quotidian: a man touching the pregnant belly of his wife, a bowlful of noodle soup, or a group of cicadas perched on an umbrella.
