Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints (2025)

Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints is a fully illustrated catalogue raisonné covering four decades of printmaking and encompassing etching, aquatint, lithography and screenprint. A total of 149 prints are illustrated and documented, many for the first time.

The book is co-authored by the master intaglio printmaker John Crossley (who collaborated with Procktor on many of his most memorable prints between 1969 and 1980) and the writer Michael Healey. It includes input from other master printmakers such as Kip Gresham and Charles Newington.

The book contains substantial essays analysing the aesthetic and technical developments of Procktor’s printmaking within the context of his wider practice, enhanced by a selection of related watercolours and working proofs. A comprehensive list of more than 100 public collections has been compiled.

Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints will be accompanied by an exhibition in the lower galleries, celebrating Procktor’s impressive achievements as printmaker.
