Monograph on the Benedictine monk, theologian, poet and artist Dom Sylvester Houédar, one of the leading practitioners and theorists of concrete poetry. Published on the occasion of the Dom Sylvester Houédard: Typestracts exhibitions at Frieze New York and Richard Saltoun Gallery.  Brings together an extensive selection of Houédard’s experimental typewriter works, or ‘typestracts’, alongside writings by and about him. Includes texts by Guy Brett, Gustavo Grandal Montero, Andrew Hunt, Nicola Simpson and Charles Varey, together with autobiographical and critical writings by Houédard himself. An important survey of his work and his place within the countercultural and transnational art movements of the 1960s and early 1970s. Condition: boards a little scuffed with a few light marks.
