A Book of Nursery Rhymes (SIGNED BY ENID MARX)

Signed and dedicated to a friend by ‘Marco’ (the nickname by which Enid Marx was known to her close friends and family). Includes three extra proof engravings. One of 260 copies, this being number 19.

The first book by Graham Moss’s Incline Press featuring thirty-two wood engravings by Enid Marx, printed from the blocks in various colours: “Alan Powers of Judd Street Gallery produced the pattern paper used to cover this book from one my woodcuts in 1989. The drawings on the title page, after the Contents and on page 3, are part of a group made to a tight schedule in 1945. All the other illustrations are printed direct from wood engravings made in 1938 for the Zodiac Book of Nursery Rhymes published by Chatto and Windus with an extra one on page 32”.

Both the book and the additional prints are in fine condition.
