Paul Klee Notebooks Volume 1 and 2 (1973)

Two-volume collection of Klee’s notebooks, including The Thinking Eye and The Nature of Nature. Monumental works in modern art theory, these notebooks include Klee’s teachings from the Bauhaus school, where he lectured during the 1920s. The writings cover his theories on form, design, and colour. Rather than being a formal treatise, Klee’s notebooks reflect an introspective analysis of the artistic process, interweaving his practical work with theoretical insights.  Volume 1 is the 1973 reprint of the first edition. Published the same year, volume 2 is the first edition, first issue. Condition: Dust-wrappers a little marked and shelf-worn with some creasing, chipping, and closed tearing to edges. Central fold-out image in volume 1 creased to extremities, otherwise very good.
