Gerald Laing (1936 – 2011)
Gerald Laing was one of the original wave of Pop artists Gerald Laing producing some of the most significant works of the British Pop movement. In the early 60’s he pioneered the painting of enormous canvases based on newspaper photographs of models, astronauts and film stars, with his 1962 portrait of Brigitte Bardot being one of the most iconic works of the period and the history of British pop art.
