Leonard Rosoman: Painting Theatre (Exhibition) 3 Feb – 29 Apr 2018

Experience John Osborne’s controversial 1965 play ‘A Patriot for Me’ through the eyes of British painter Leonard Rosoman RA (1913-2012). The play’s exploration of gay life proved transformative for Rosoman, who went on to create this remarkable series of paintings which conveyed the play’s ‘claustrophobic, sometimes savage, atmosphere whilst capturing a time when attitudes towards sexuality and censorship were on the cusp of change.
