21 | TWENTY ONE showcases designers living and working in Britain who have come to prominence since the millennium. They lead public taste and critical debate; they are the innovators and the explorers of new materials or processes; they are establishing new ways of working, and redefining what that work might be. Combining interviews with commentary and evaluation, Gareth Williams examines what design means and has meant to Britain and British identity, looking at the roles of government, museums, galleries, studios, the public, and the designers.
