Edward Bawden was a distinguished artist who worked in many forms. He began his career as a commerical artist before he was twenty, with poster and book illustration work. He was a master draughtsman and designer and this album of linocuts makes a bold and attractive volume. Includes cover designs for Oxford University Press, designs for Fortnum and Mason Easter advertisements, details from ‘City of London’ poster for London Passenger Transport Board and Zodiac designs for Gilbey’s beer mats.
