George Kennethson: A Modernist Rediscovered

This is the first full-length study of George Kennethson (1919-1994), an often-overlooked artist who carried the torch of Modernist-Primitivist sculpture in Britain after Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Frank Dobson and Henri Haudier-Brzeska. This book places Kennethson’s life and work in the context of Modernism in Britain and is fully illustrated with new colour and archival photographs, drawings and writings, many of which are published here for the first time.
