Our Holiday Summer 1962: A Picture Diary by Rena Gardiner

The 1962 picture diary records Rena’s summer holiday adventures with her teacher colleagues when she worked at Bournemouth School for Girls, setting off on the 29th July and going on a fabulous road trip camping around Europe. They travel through France, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, and back to France again before ending up back in Bournemouth on the 7th September, ready for the start of a new school year.

The original diary is painted in gouache, with some pen and ink details. This paperback edition has been lithographically printed to the same size as the original.

As Rena Gardiner was a printer and lithographer by profession, The Baguette Press have decided to print the books lithographically, rather than the cheaper option of digital printing, to keep it in line with the spirit of Rena’s work.
