“Norfolk Still Life is loosely based on the lovely coastal village of Burnham Overy Staithes. The North Norfolk coast is our closest sea to Rutland and, as my partner Mark is a keen sailor, we have spent a lot of time in the area; Mark on the water sailing and the dogs and I on land, walking and drawing. Although I have used quite a strong blue in the foreground to contrast with the orange lilies, it’s the soft, distant, blue grey that reminds me most of Norfolk.” – Angela Harding
