This deluxe edition contains a specially commissioned Limited Edition etching by Norman Ackroyd CBE RA Instructions (2009), which incorporates lines from Douglas Dunn’s Instructions to a Saintly Poet, printed on 115gsm Zerkall paper by Niamh Clancy on the artist’s presses in Southwark, signed by the artist and the poet. LIMITED EDITION OF 125 COPIES
This beautifully produced book brings together Norman Ackroyd RA, one of Britain’s foremost landscape artists, and the award-winning poet Douglas Dunn, in a collaboration that takes the reader around the British coast through word and image. Ackroyd’s prints – some 80 are featured in this book – are interweaved with 15 new poems by Dunn, including Working with Norman, based on their visit to the most northerly point of the British Isles.
Together, Ackroyd’s atmospheric aquatints and Dunn’s specially commissioned poems attest to the power of place, while reflecting the diversity of the landscape to be found along the British coastline.
