Notes on the Post-Impressionist Painters: Grafton Galleries 1910-11 (1910)

“These hasty notes, in their original form, were made for my own use, in case I should ever be called upon to revise certain theories of modern art which I had tentatively put forward before seeing any “Post-Impressionist” painting. By printing the notes separately, I hope to gain the advantage of preliminary criticism : incidentally, too, they may be suggestive to a few of the many visitors to the Grafton Galleries”. Holme’s contemporaneous observations of the works included in Roger Fry’s ground-breaking first exhibition of Post-Impressionist painting. Condition: covers a little worn. Spine age tanned.
