First reprint of the first English translation of Stein’s important study of the art of Picasso. “Painting in the nineteenth century was only done in France and by Frenchmen, apart from that, painting did not exist, in the twentieth century it was done in France but by Spaniards”. Condition: pink cloth boards faded and lightly worn to edges. Dust-wrapper worn with some sturdy tape reapirs to verso. Light toning and spotting to endpaper and paste-downs.
