Whitechapel At War: Isaac Rosenburg & his Circle

The focus of this book is on the art and work of the poet-painter Isaac Rosenberg and his Whitechapel contemporaries, including David Bomberg, Mark Gertler, Jacob Kramer, Bernard Meninsky and Clare Winsten, and the writers John Rodker, Joseph Leftwich and Stephen Winsten. Their artworks and writing highlight the the great debate of their generation provoked by the experience of the First World War: modernism vs. tradition.
