This is, of course, Park Avenue New York – the iconic boulevard in Manhattan running north-south and containing some of the world’s most famous buildings: the Waldorf-Astoria, the Seagram Building, and – central here – the Helmsley Building. But this is wondrous scale. A parade of colourful cars forms the base; huge verticals form the sides, and central picture the full stop of the diminutive Helmsley Building serves only to accentuate the sheerness of scale. This is Park Avenue as whimsical grandeur.
