One of 250 copies. Oblong. Illustrations throughout taken from old wood engravings and printed in various colours. Original printed cream boards, spiral bound, some light soiling and browning otherwise very good. Loosely inserted is a 3 page als. from the publisher signed Robert (?Priddle), noting how this copy is unexpurgated and that in some copies the Preface had to be removed as the “hero”, Captain Cyril Hidebound, was a reference to one of the school governors.
