Inscribed by Kennington to General Sir B Paget : “To General Sir B Paget from Eric Kennington 1945”. Loosely inserted letter from Kennington to the General crediting him with coming up with the idea of the book: “Dear General Paget here is the infant conceived by you and grigg. Born after 2 years odd – quite an elephantine gestation. All best wishes. I’m still carving a monument. Someday, please call here when your gigantic walk is done”. In 1942, Paget was appointed Commander-in-Chief of Home Forces, overseeing the training and readiness of British troops for future operations. Condition: cracking to guttering between frontispiece and title page, otherwise very good in very good dust-wrapper.
