The work of Jacques Quinet (1918-1992), unjustly unknown to the general public, spans nearly fifty years. From the rue Fortuny in Paris, where he settled in 1946, he reigned supreme over the decorative arts until the end of the 80s. He takes the greatest care of his furniture, simple and refined. His creations often combine bronze – gilded, patina, brushed, etc. with the most diverse but high quality materials: lacquer, sycamore, mahogany, cherry, oak, leather… A defender of the noble art and “organizer of beauty”, he never ceased to lighten his drawing towards a geometric purity that reached its peak in the 50s. Text in French.
Condition: very good.
