Marx’s captivating story weaving together themes of bravery, adventure and patriotism. “Nelson is a very dashing fellow. With his sailor hat and jaunty curl he flies merrily along, high up in the air. His job is to go to sea tethered to a ship. Of course this is dangerous, and Nelson knows that the safety of the brave crew depends largely on his efficiency and resourcefulness.” Featuring 16 full-page lithograph illustrations in blue and black and reflecting Marx’s distinctive style that blends English folk art with continental modernism. Condition: Pictorial covers show significant signs of wear and age and only one of the original staples still holds the cover in place. Rust show-through from staples. Internally clean and bright.
