Renowned for his horse paintings and Picasso-baiting presidency of the Royal Academy, Munning’s chronicled his life and career in this colourful three-volume autobiography comprising An Artist’s Life (1950) The Second Burst (1951) and The Finish (1952). Profusely illustrated throughout by the author. Three volume set in original dust-wrappers.

Condition:

  • An Artist’s Life (1950) Dust-wrapper a little worn and tanned with discreet tape repairs to the verso, addressing small tears.
  • The Second Burst (1951): previous owner’s inscription to half-title page. Dust-wrapper a little tanned and worn to extremities with discreet tape repairs to the verso, addressing small tears.
  • The Finish (1952): Red cloth boards show damp staining, resulting in some colour transfer to the dust-jacket. Dust-wrapper also worn with some chipping and a small segment of loss to top left corner of its rear panel.

Internally clean and bright.
