The Barye Bronzes: A Catalogue Raisonne (1990)

This is a reprint of Stuart Pivar’s standard work on the sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye, the teacher of Rodin and a central figure of the Romantic Movement in art. It contains many improved black and white photographs and is further enhanced by twenty additional colour plates with captions, provided by Edward Horswell, son of the author of ‘The Bronze Sculpture of Les Animaliers’. It includes the only known pictorial list of the work of this important nineteenth century artist.
