Everybody for miles around Goose Lane used to buy their groceries at Mr Potter’s Shop. He had three assistants, Tim the errand boy (Tim sniffed a lot and was not hygienic) and three cats to keep away the mice. He also had a pony called Brandy. One fateful day a rival Emporium opened across the street and began to lure away all the customers. Things started to look grim for Mr Potter and his shop, until deliverance came in the shape of the little horse bus that Mr Potter discovered one night at the back of his yard.

One of Graham Greene’s first children’s books, The Little Horse Bus was originally published many years ago, and is now reissued with enchanting new illustrations by Edward Ardizzone.

Condition: very good in very good unclipped dust-wrapper
