Dust wrapper designed by Barbara Hepworth. It is nearly twenty years since Miss Julia Strachey wrote her first novel Cheerful Weather for the Wedding. The expectation which that little masterpiece of tragi-comedy immediately aroused has since been enhanced by a number of nouvelles, many of which appeared in New Writing, Horizon and other literary magazines. Her new novel will not disappoint her admirers. It is a love story; the scene is in an English country house during a few weeks of summer.

Condition: Brown cloth boards lightly marked with some fading and a small indentation to top edge of front panel. Unclipped dust-wrapper lightly spotted and sunned along top edge of its front panel. Some very slight spotting to endpapers and pastedowns, otherwise very good.
