Third Edition.  Gilt decorated blue cloth with gilt decorated spine.   A superb collection of adventure stories written by women for children based on real events including the Spanish conquest of Mexico.  ‘It is not without diffidence that editor offers The True Story Book to Children.  We have now given them three fairy books, and their very kind and flattering letters to the editor prove, not only that they like the three fairy books,  but that they clamour for more.’  Condition: Blue boards a little rubbed to edges.  Previous owner’s inscription to half-title page.  Slight crack to front hinge.  Gilt edges a little rubbed with a little blue mark bottom edge.
