The Three Vignettes were engraved on 3 boxwood blocks to illustrate ‘Thrice Welcome’, a publicity booklet published by Southern Railway in 1935. In the booklet the wood engravings were reproduced from metal stereotypes. They are here printed directly from the blocks in an edition of 500 copies on dampened velin d’Arches paper. The printing has been undertaken on a hand press by Ian Mortimer.
