These unfinished watercolours were the germinating, iridescent centre from which some of Turner’s best known works emerged. Copy given by Ben Nicholson to Angela Varren Taunt and with a dedication from him to front pastedown: “Many happy returns to Angela March 2-1979 with love from Ben”. Condition: dust-wrapper a little creased to edges with a small segment of loss to top right edge of front panel, otherwise very good.
