Croft-Murray’s scarce and classic study of painting as the ‘decorative complement to architecture in the adornment of ceilings, walls and woodwork, during a period ranging from the Tudors to the accession of Queen Victoria.’ Two volumes in original dust-jackets. Both volumes bound in original publisher’s red and blue cloth. Condition: Ex-library with usual stamps, labels and markings.  Covers worn. Front end-paper removed from volume 1. Text block clean and bright. Some slight sunning to top and tail of spine of volume one.
