Scarce large spiral bound work – 35cm (w) x 55cm (h) – produced by Art Society Press which was run by scholars of King’s College School, Wimbledon.
THIS BOOK can be traced through the Art Room careers of a group of boys who both illustrated and printed it. Their names are in the acknowledgements. The original idea was conceived five years before the production format was accepted and put into production. Landscape Journey really springs from ideas first seen in Jax House of fifteen years ago. This idea has thus gone through many modifications, translations, and progressions in all its aspects of form, layout, and print, arriving at the present realization. A good proportion of the time spent in pre-production work has involved what can only be described as Organisation. Organising the sequence of prints in runs of colour, and correct paper. The list is much longer and includes many mock-ups. The book is concerned with the colours of the seasons as on the wide landscape, and this at once simplifies and complicates the whole production”.
Condition: Covers aged, tan-coloured and slightly worn to edges. Some light wear to spiral binding, otherwise very good.
